Debt collection in Poland

Your Polish customer stopped paying. We find out quickly whether the debt is collectable, send a demand the debtor takes seriously, and take the case to court and enforcement when needed.

Who this is for

Foreign companies with unpaid invoices from Polish customers: manufacturers, distributors, logistics and service providers.

What we do

01 · Debtor check

Registers, insolvency announcements, ownership and management, signs of asset stripping. You learn whether the case is worth pursuing before spending more.

02 · Demand letter

A formal pre-litigation demand from a Polish advocate, with interest and recovery costs calculated, and a short deadline. Many debtors pay at this stage.

03 · Court proceedings

Payment-order procedure where possible, ordinary proceedings where the debt is disputed, and the European Payment Order or other EU instruments where they fit better.

04 · Enforcement

Cooperation with the court enforcement officer (komornik), asset searches, and, where the law allows, claims against those responsible for the debtor’s insolvency.

How it works

  1. Send the file. Contract, invoices, correspondence.
  2. Assessment within days. Collectability, route, costs, timeline.
  3. Demand. Then court and enforcement if the debtor does not pay.
  4. Reporting. Short written updates in English at every stage.

Fees

Fixed fee for the debtor check and the demand letter; court and enforcement stages by fixed fee, hourly rate or a success-based component. Court costs recovered from the debtor are accounted to you.

Questions, answered.

Can you check the debtor before we spend money on a lawsuit?

Yes. We start with public registers: the National Court Register, insolvency and restructuring announcements, the VAT register and the debtor's assets visible in public sources. It costs little and often decides the strategy.

Do I need to come to Poland?

No. We act on a power of attorney. Documents can be exchanged electronically; originals are needed only exceptionally.

What documents do you need?

The contract or order, invoices, proof of delivery or performance, correspondence with the debtor and any acknowledgement of the debt.

Can the debtor's director be liable?

In some situations Polish law allows claims against management board members of a limited liability company when enforcement against the company fails. Whether it applies depends on the facts and timing; we assess it in each case.
